No, no, no. And oh sooooo romantic.
I think we have a lot of very confused young adults out there, thanks to—wait for it—new social media.
How do we teach ethics through a screen? Non-verbal communication is so important. If your first experiences with intimate behavior are also your first face-to-face/one-on-one encounters, chances are you're not going to be great at reading people. It seems the first question is "Are we going to have sex?" instead of "Who are you?"—whoa kids, give it some time to heat up and gel—or not. Really.

I agree with a lot of what you said Karen. When I think of ethics and technology I can't help but to think of this portion from the show "New Girl."

You need to watch the whole episode to get the whole experience, but the emoji part really made me laugh and think of this class.
SOME people rely on social media to express their feelings, and it's sad to say but some people do need this app in order to "get busy." I do think that it is a very small population of the kids you're talking about, but this app will help some of those socially awkward kids use social media to express every feeling they have.
I agree with you though, people should have the face-to-face experiences that go along with dating and relationships.

As bad as it may sound I don't feel like this app is a bad one. Some people have a difficult time letting the other person know exactly what they want from them through face-to-face interaction but this app eliminates that fear. It's an unethical way to do things but technology and the way that we do things in this day and age is a lot different than it was 40-50 years ago.
