"Research, develop and propose a plan of sustainability that involves social networking as viable as possible. This can include the development of new applications, networked communication, and paradigm shifts in how we live."
Instead of researching and developing a plan I've asked you to find existing evidence of sustainability or a context in which sustainability is needed. Richmond was a great example of this. What I'm looking for, what I hope we're all looking for, is a direct look at how social networking can make sustainability possible on all the levels you've adopted within your group.
Understand, social networking is not the same thing as social media. I'm looking for critical questions that spark an idea to fulfill a need, perhaps the development of an app that when combined with a networked Nest system has the ability to vent attic heat from entire sub-divisions, or maybe a saturation sensor that registers adequate hydration for an urban garden that then diverts water to the next need. I just came up with those, the googled them and found stuff that relates. You can, too
When it comes to paradigm shifts, what needs to change? For Richmond it's their population's resistance to social media for starters. How about yours? Could you sustain your living without a trip to a supermarket, a gas station, or a clinic? How could networking make this possible for you, and therefore, for the population of the cities you've analyzed?
Imagine. Connect. Think deeper.
